Dr Dee Duffy

Meet the course designer

Dr. Dee Duffy researches sustainable fashion and consumption practices. She is an invited speaker on this topic at international conferences and workshops. Dee was awarded a Learning Innovation Award at technological University Dublin for the project, ‘Exploring Global Citizenship, Fashion Retail & Sustainability’ in which university students created campus-based awareness campaigns for Fashion Revolution Week. Dee advocates for life-long learning and started the Journeying podcast in 2020 as a resource to share opinions and voices on topics of interest to her, including gender equality; female leadership; diversity & inclusion; personal well-being & mental fitness; retail & consumption; social entrepreneurship; and sports-focused stories. In her downtime, she enjoys Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and sea-swimming. 

Katie Brill

Meet the course host

Katie Brill – former contestant and regional winner of Junk Kouture with her design made from orange peel ‘Re’ Juicing is Ap ‘Peeling’ in 2012 and now part of the JK team as VP of PR & Communications. The experience was life-changing for her and helped her build confidence, problem solving skills and knowledge on circularity. She is now committed to expand the mission of JK and to inspire and empower more young creatives around the world.
